State & Local Resources

Texas Gov. Greg Abbot has issued a broad range of executive orders as part of the state’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Effective October 14, EO GA-32 reopened certain venues, including movie theaters, to 75% capacity. There is no occupancy limit for drive-in movie theaters. Counties that reside in Trauma Service Areas (TSAs) with high COVID‑19 hospitalizations are excluded from these reopenings. On July 2, 2020, Governor Abbott issued Executive Order GA-29 relating to the use of face coverings. Counties for which the county judge has affirmatively opted-out of this face-covering requirement shall file with the Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) the required face-covering exemption form. See the TDEM website for additional information.
